UNSOLVED DOUBLE HOMICIDE
$ 50,000.00 REWARD

FOR INFORMATION LEADING TO THE ARREST
AND CONVICTION OF PERSON OR PERSONS RESPONSIBLE FOR A
DOUBLE HOMICIDE
Victim #1: William Chapman 91 year old white male
Victim #2: Lena Chapman 81 year old white female

On October 1, 2006 Firefighters discovered the Chapman’s bodies after extinguishing a blaze at the couples home at 870 E. South Bear Creek Dr. in the early morning hours. Police say unknown attacker(s) entered the Chapman’s house then assaulted them. Investigators believe the fire was set in an attempt to destroy evidence. The Chapmans were residents of Merced for 50 years. They are survived by three children and eight grandchildren.

"We miss you so much! It has been almost two years since you left us so unexpectedly. Our wonderful memories will never fade nor will our hopes that justice will be served. Your kindness and generosity touched so many lives, many of those much less fortunate than us. To think such special people lives had to end in such a painful, tragic way makes me so angry. I wish I would have been there that night to defend both of you. We pray every night for your family and for Justice!"
